We have all heard from dermatologists that there is no link between skin health and diet. Today, the relation is therefore scientifically proven[1].
A balanced diet is about diversity and quantity.
For the variety, we can mention among the food known to reduce and protect skin inflammation, orange pepper, lemon, fatty fish such as salmon or sardines. Almonds, tomato, grapefruit, green tea or avocado help protect the skin from UV rays (be careful, sunscreen is still necessary). Cocoa helps slow down skin aging, eggs promote collagen production and kefir helps prevention from skin infections.
Not to mention the cabbages, which have an antioxidant action and promote the formation of collagen.
As for the quantity, the skin is an emetory organ: when the liver, kidneys or intestine are overloaded, the skin takes over and unfortunately this does not go unnoticed!
Small adjustments are then very useful: less fat, fewer added sugars, less gluten and less hard to digest dairy products.
Bonus: taking the time to chew and enjoying the content of your plate makes all the difference!
